Canopy by Hilton, London

Canopy by Hilton, London City, designed by ACME London, is a hotel project that intricately weaves together history, design, and atmosphere to create a compelling narrative through its interiors. Drawing inspiration from the former Church of Holy Trinity, which was built on the site of an abbey once occupied by the Minoresses (nuns from whom Minories takes its name), the hotel's lobby is a prime example of this storytelling. The space is designed to evoke the feeling of a chamber, with floor-to-ceiling velvet panels and an ecclesiastical light installation hanging overhead, reflecting both the historical significance and the hotel's contemporary design language. The project has been shortlisted in two categories for the prestigious AHEAD Awards Europe 2022, under Event Spaces and Visual Identity. This recognition highlights the exceptional design not only of the hotel's overall visual identity but also of its multi-purpose and event spaces, underlining the success of ACME London’s vision in creating a memorable and distinctive environment. The design reflects the rich history of the location while offering a modern and immersive experience for guests and event attendees alike.
