From creation to acquisition: the curator's job at Muzéo
Muzéo, spatial artists where each project is a work of art in its own right
The Art Curator's Job
The role of the art curator goes beyond simply managing works of art. It's about creating an immersive artistic experience. The curator is a true composer, developing a concept and a narrative through the arrangement of a varied range of works, from paintings to installations, art objects, accessories and books.
Beyond the aesthetic aspect, the art curator juggles with organisation and technique to bring a turnkey project to fruition. Every decision, whether it's the choice of works, their spatial layout or the management of financial resources, contributes to shaping a unique artistic experience.
In this way, the curator acts like an artistic conductor, harmonising aesthetics, methodical organisation, technical mastery and financial management to offer the client an enriching result that serves its purpose. In short, the curator's job is to create a coherent and captivating artistic experience, in which each element contributes to the overall project by reinforcing meaning and emotion.
La spécificité du Métier chez Muzéo
At Muzéo, the art curator develops the storytelling and the concept, then carefully researches and selects each artist for the particular project. The curator will then work with them to develop and produce the artworks. In some cases, existing works may be acquired directly.
The art curator takes into consideration the technical aspects of the works, such as their size, the media used, framing, transport and hanging. Every detail counts and Muzéo offers a turnkey solution to its clients, so it is essential that each work is designed for the dedicated space.
At the same time, she actively explores sources for art objects, decorative accessories and books that will enhance the project and give it a unique look. Her thinking encompasses not only the aesthetic aspect, but also practical, logistical and budgetary considerations. In this way, each choice made contributes to the development of a complete and coherent artistic project that meets the customer's expectations.
Revealing science through the prism of art
A landmark project for Muzéo
At Muzéo, each project is a unique experience, a creative fusion that adapts to the specific needs of various sectors such as hotels, offices and public spaces, whether indoors or outdoors. From the delicate hanging of framed paintings to the creation of imposing monumental sculptures, Muzéo excels in creating bespoke artistic experiences.
Among Muzéo's achievements, the decoration of the Sanofi group's head office, known as the Maison Sanofi, is a prime example. The challenge was to develop a captivating artistic concept, highlighting the miracles of science while at the same time showcasing all the professions present in this House. With this in mind, Muzéo selected works by emerging French artists, offering a contemporary and innovative perspective.
The most striking work in this project is undoubtedly the photograph Dichroic by Thomas Devaux. This piece stands out for its innovative nature, using NASA technology that makes its colours vary according to the light, creating a dynamic and captivating visual experience. In addition, a dozen other works have been carefully selected and integrated into the strategic meeting spaces of the Maison Sanofi, further enriching the atmosphere of these places with a thoughtful artistic diversity.
In this way, each Muzéo project is much more than a simple decoration; it is an immersion in art, an artistic expression carefully designed to match the identity and vision of each client.
Summing up the business in two words: Poetry and rigour.
