Custom framing at Muzéo

A team of passionate artisans

Muzéo is the place to bring works of art, images and memories to life by framing them. The team of framers is made up of passionate craftsmen with genuine expertise. They pay particular attention to every detail, whether to create a complex artistic composition or to enhance the simplicity of a visual. Muzéo is there to bring a vision to life.

The framing profession at Muzéo is unique. It requires a wide range of skills, from the skilful handling of different materials to a multitude of projects every week. This particular context requires exceptional versatility on the part of the artisans. It is important to emphasise that the fruits of their labour are the result of in-depth thought and collaboration between different sectors, such as the project manager, the design office, the creative team and the iconographer.

Each Muzéo frame is unique, specially adapted to the works and made to measure according to the customer's preferences. Muzéo offers a wide range of options in terms of colours, woods and frame compositions so that every detail can be customised to suit the work (paper, canvas, etc.).

This uniqueness makes the team's projects and skills particularly special, making them versatile professionals. Their ability to embrace this diversity is one of the most striking aspects that sets the Muzéo team apart.

A large-scale, landmark project

The project, located in AL KHOBAR, was a landmark experience for Muzéo because of the work involved in heightening the paintings on a large-scale canvas. The Muzéo creative team undertook a phenomenal amount of work to bring this artistic initiative to life. They added a hand-crafted touch where every detail of the paintings required meticulous attention, bringing originality and exclusivity to this work.

The challenges were not only artistic but also logistical. The act of stretching a canvas on a stretcher frame was one of the most delicate and demanding stages of this project. Firstly, the size of the canvases, measuring 3 metres by 3 metres, immediately introduced logistical challenges. The scale of the project was also impressive, with 60 canvases of this size having to be created and framed.

Stretching a canvas of this size requires technical expertise to ensure even, balanced tension across the entire surface. There was always a risk of distortion, creasing or warping. The fragility stems from the handling of the wooden stretcher frame, requiring an assessment of the tension exerted, which is done manually.

In addition, the size of the canvases had an impact on the design of the frames themselves to ensure optimum stability.

The second project we undertook was a commission for a major player in the world of fine jewellery. The project was challenging because it involved a frame that was entirely made to measure, from the moulding to the glass, to create a unique, made-to-measure object. With the help of the design office, the framing team had to come up with a luxury object that would suit the customer, while at the same time producing it in very large quantities. This project proved to be a real challenge because of the handmade nature of the product, its intrinsic complexity and the volume to be produced - thousands of frames.
